Hello,
i'm searching for a way to add a shortcut to the TextFx plugin too. I want to
use the function "Delete blank lines" with one key, as i have to use it very
often.
Macro recorder sadly not recort plugin functions.
The often named "Shortcut Mapper" doesn't allow to append new commands and don't
use plugins either.
Pleasy give me a hint how i map a key to a plugin function. I love notepadd++
very much and i'm sad that i have to click for most used functions ever and
ever again.

I'm probably not seeing the wood for the trees but how do you actvate word wrap?
Forum doesn't throw anything specific up and the fAQ doesn't seem to help.

Try ctrl + r to open the advanced search and replace editor. They say to use
ctrl + m for multiple lines.

Uhm guys this already works. I've been using it since 3.0 and ever since then
I use it in combination with winscp. It's not the functionality of N++, but
rather Winscp. Simply go into preferences, add your primary editor as N++ from
within Winscp. Bump it to the top of your editor list. While in Winscp right
click on a file...click edit. By default it will load in N++ no matter the
file type. Be caeful what you open that way I guess. I use it mainlly for
PHP development.

Interesting wiki link, why couldn't you use something like
http://www.mainsoft.com/solutions/vmw5_wp.aspx . Don't mind me I'm noob, but
I'm all for the Linux port. Just wish I was knowledgeable enough to help.
Whether it happens or not, it's a great editor I truly thank those who have

I was experiences with Notepad++ crashing on me when I tried to open it, and
I tracked it back to the session.xml file in "%APPDATA%\Notepad++\session.xml".
When I looked at the XML, I found out that some of the "File" nodes were missing
a text value to indicate the path to the file. See the example below (angle
brackets replaced with square brackets):

Now, I am not completely sure what was done to cause this to happen since I
was just using it as normal, and so I feel that there is a bug somewhere that
might be causing this.
It might be a good idea to put more checks in place for handling a corrupt
session
file, and default it to a blank session should failure happen on loading the
session XML. On the other hand, if there is a failure in loading one of the
file paths in the XML, then it should be ignored.
Alternately, I would suggest a safemode version, as another icon, that could
be rung that would allow a user to get into the application using a blank
session
and/or default install setting.
Just my 2 cents.

We wish to display the contents of ASCII files that contain 7-bit ASCII data
with the 8th bit of each byte set to even parity (yikes!). Internally Notepad++
uses all 8 bits per character by default for the display character... which
is a problem. Rather than using a filter program to strip each source file's
data down to 7 bits, is there a way in the current N++ version to force using
only 7-bits for display purposes? I did not find such an option in my help,
plugin and other wanderings.

As a workaround, you can use ctrl-A to select all in the results panel, or use
the mouse to select a portion followed by ctrl-C. Double-clicking on a line
with found text will open the file containing that text -- at least in the
recent

Thanks for this Jens.
I can confirm "blue hand" icon has now gone in Favorites tab.
However, Favorites files are not underlined when opened (are they supposed to
be?). Explorer files ARE underlined.
I'm still having problems with Favorites Folder icons much the same as before.
This is with "Use Windows Icons" selected. When this option isn't selected,
the icons are OK.
When NPP is opened and the Favorites tab is on top all the Folder icons are
either blank or display this green up arrow icon. Any redraw, such as swapping
focus to another window or moving a dialog over the offending icons causes them
to be redrawn correctly. Favorites File icons are always drawn correctly.
This is consistent. Folders which have a desktop.ini file with the path of my
own icon are blank, and all the others have the green up arrow.
If the Explorer tab is on top when NPP is opened and I then select the Favorites
tab, the results are identical to above. Scrolling up the list reveals correctly
drawn icons and as above, any redraw correctly shows the icons.
Back and Forward buttons a welcome addition, thanks (didn't notice them before
:-)).
