Hi
I have run without the Function list plugin for about a week. It still crashes
but not so often. It usually still happens when Notepad++ is in not active for
a while.

Is it hard to implement more powerfull regex engine, like PCRE, instead
of Scintilla's built-in simple one?
Much more things could be easilly done then, multiline regexes are only a small
part of them!

I have found the file tht references the file dialouge list. \PowerEditor\src
the file called Notepad_plus.cpp
I'm using NotePad++ to snoop through the code a little. The file save code seems
quite elaborate. I don't know if I'm able to add it but I'm willing to look
at the source code. I first gotta get a feeling of the source code and made
a copy to fiddle in.
Bob: try (m)any applications. See which ones do and don't save with extension...
(oh try looking at the code yourself might also be helpfull ;) The save as
dialog
code begins at line 1019.

If when saving, you type the filename with the extension in quotes, it will
work
Example: "filename.txt"
I look forward to this being fixed in future releases.
Aside from this, N++ is awesome.

In Linux, I prefer Kate. I actually use Notepad++ simply because there is no
Kate for windows.
Kate is awesome. You have a console at the bottom of Kate so if you want to
compile then run some code, it's no problem. And what's even better, is you
can set up a script so you compile then execute by pressing F5 or whatever key
you decide.
Notepad++ is great guys, don't get me wrong. But it's not worthy of a linux
port. It's a windows app, let's leave it this way (much to the developer's
wishes.)

After a little experimenting, the delay in NPP finally closing and removing
itself from the Task Manager process list is exactly the Timeout value.
I connect, look at a file, close it, and disconnect. It confirms it has
disconnected
and no folders are shown before I close NPP.

I agree. BOM has nothing to do with ANSI. Currently (in version 4.2.2) to remove
BOM from UTF-8, you have to change UTF-8 -> Ansi -> UTF-8 without BOM, which
is wrong.

Yesterday I have written a simple plugin for NP++ (thanks to Jens).
It works well (=as designed) on my PC at home. I was so happy, that I decided
to bring the DLL at my office, this morning, and to install the plugin on the
office PC, and so I discovered that it didn't work.
When I try to execute NP++, I receive a message stating that "LoadLibrary is
failed. This plugin is not compatible with current version of NotePad++".
So I installed on the office PC the version NP++ 4.2.2 (the same version I have
at home), "over" the old version, but it still didn't work.
So I uninstalled, deleted the program directory and registry entries,
reinstalled
v.4.2.2 "from scratch", and I had the same result: plugin not compatible.
The operating system is Windows XP prof. SP2 at home, and Windows XP prof.
(don't
remeber about SP) at office.
What's happening?
How can a plugin be compatible with a version of the program at home, and
incompatible at office?
Can anyone help me, please?
TIA
GGa
(again)

Could you try this version?
http://npp-plugins.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/npp-plugins/NppPlugins/FTP_syn
chronize/build/FTP_synchronize.dll
and see if it still hangs? It shouldn't tho =]
