Please post any further message in a new thread with the right description.
This has nothing to do with Column Mode (any more).

What is your own opinion on this? If it would not be possible, would you ask
for it?
Does this rethoric question answer yours?

a) when using a macro, which is also using the search in combination
once recorded i will use <CTRL>+shift+P to play it

*
when it cannot find anymore of whats combined regarding search in the macro
it will throw a message "cannot find word" white an <ok> BOX
when pressed, it always removes 1 extra line from where cursor is at.

btw; when search finds something it usually highlights the word.
so why is that message so necessary, seems more useless
then click press <ok> :P

b) as for the interface :
1) a way to delete\remove single macros
2) a way to save macros title with no need for key combination pending

also some key combinations mustn't be shown i.e: F4 shouldn't show up when <ALT>
is selected .etc

Hi

I think that you are dealing with volatile search the np++ shortcut is CTRL+F3
but you could change it to F3 if you prefer

Hi,
I like the soft!
Sometimes i need to text replace in large sql dumps...
well there are tools like grep/egrep but i do not want
to miss the good other features of npp. When it comes
to editing such a file, the gui is not as responding
as one is used to.
Is there a way to improve npp somehow so that e.g.
only the visible parts of the textfile are rendered?
Or whatever might cause npp to keep busy for the little
while when editing large files.

That would be a nice!

Bye,
Klaus

FYI :

New behaviour of auto-add extension in file save dialog in v4.4.1 is defined
here :

1. The filter *.* don't change the extension at all, whatever users type.
2. The file save dialog will be launched with the filter *.* set as default.
So user can add any customized extension.
3. Choose other filters will change extension of file automatically.
For example, a file name "toto.php" will be changed to "toto.txt" if the
filter Normal Text "*.txt" is choosen.

I think it's a good compromise between ones who need auto-add extension feature
and ones who prefer to give their own customized extension.

This behaviour will be implemented in the v4.4.1, which will be released in
this weekend.

Hi
I discover bug in notepad++ 4.4

With a c source file loaded, I place insertion point at beginning of word, right
click -> mark all, which
highlights all occurrences of the selected word, if I then select a block of
text -> right click and choose "block
comment/uncomment" the block of text does not automatically change to the
comment
colour.

not a big issue but I thought I'd mention it.

cheers
dazbo

Is there a C/C++/Java compiler on this software? This is my first time using
the software, and there is nowhere that I found a compile button. How do you
use the software? Thanks.

>Do you mean "reverse" order?
for exapmle:
Input:
       last_line
       before_last_line
       smth here
       first line
I want to revers lines in my text:
       first line
       smth here
       before_last_line
       last_line

I find the way to do it in Notepad++:
 1)Intick all TextFX/TextFX Tools/Sort
 2)Select sorting lines
 3)TextFX/TextFX Tools/Insert lines numbers
4)TextFX/TextFX Tools/Sort lines case insensitive (at column)
 5)TextFX/TextFX Tools/Delete lines numbers

I want to insert a text (say "123") in all lines after column 7 and before
column
8.

When I try to setup anvertical insert line between columns 7 and 8 it does not
work. Either column 7 or 8 is marked at least.
But if I mark e.g. column 8 and I type the first char I want to insert ("1")
then all existing col 8 chars are overwritten.

But I don't want to overwrite - only insert.

Does this work somehow otherwise?
