Found it!! If you go into langs.xml and comment out the Language tags for file
extensions that you want, for me it's PHP, Perl and VBS, then restart Notepad++
and VOILA!!! No more annoying folder margins.
Next step, get rid of the annoying tab lines and I'll be a hap-hap-happy camper.
So far it's an ear to ear grin.. :-)
Now if someone could make the above mentioned "features" easily disabled from
the GUI, that would be nice (icing on the cake).
BTW, thanks to everyone who's developing Notepad++. What an excellent piece
of software!!!

HexEditor does not mess with window data in Notepad++ in the place if initially
fails. It fails in the startup routines.
Reporting what I found here is not simple as my fix(es) strech accross 8 files
and have more than 75 lines of C++ code changes.

I am attempting to remove spaces after a semi colons so that the letters or
numbers are indented left. Here is an example:
john; smith; 123 Main Street; anywhere; [EMAIL PROTECTED];
123xyz
I want it to read:
john;smith;123 Main Street;anywhere;[EMAIL PROTECTED];123xyz
I have tried to "kill all white spaces, but it gets rid of spaces I need such
as in the address and other places. I tried this expression and it didn't work
(; )[^A-Za-z0-9]
No luck. Any help would be great. I have to rectify this with a text document
with 1000 lines. Thank you for your consideration.

I was trying to find a why to open all documents as read only. Then if need
be, I would remove the read only status when I wanted to make a change. I could
not find any setting that could be used to set this as the default behavior.
I search the forum but did not find any resent info on the topic.
Is this possible and if so, how could it be accomplished?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently installed Npp 4.8.2 with Function List Plugin 1.2 on Win XP Pro SP2.
I opened multiple files and split screen with Function List on. When switching
and editing between the split screens, I noticed that the Function List will
take a long time to load, and follow by Npp freezing. I check Windows Task
Manager,
it's showing that Npp is using more than 600MB of memory! Shortly after, Npp
crashed with runtime error. This is VERY repeatable. Now I just close Function
List, everything seems to be fine. I would like to keep using Function List,
since it is very helpful, but not when it will cause Npp to crash every
5 minutes.
Anybody experience something similar? Any solution to this problem?

The parentheses take this as a group which will be put back in the replace field
by stating \1. The space is removed, the ; is placed back also. Including 0
matches will also remove the ending space on lines ending with "; ".
If there are possibly more than one space characters, put a + sign after the
single space in the Find field.
[^A-Z] means: NOT matching any of the characters in the range A to Z.
