I'm not sure if the document monitor works as intended. When I choose "stop
monitoring" from the menu, the silent updating is still active for me.
Potentially
very dangerous.

Here's the problem the way I see it. For example, let's create "c:\name.txt".

Total Commander creates the requested file "name.txt" (empty) and then starts
Notepad++ with the file path (c:\) as the "current folder" and passing only
the file name "name.txt" in parameters.

When Notepad++ starts, it loads the previous session. Whenever it loads a file,
it sets its own "current folder" to that of the currently loaded file. Let's
say, last time you were editing "c:\MyFiles\hello.txt", so the current directory
of the Notepad++ will become "c:\MyFiles".

Then Notepad++ checks the parameter list and sees that it should open a file
"name.txt". Since there is no path given, it will try to open the file in the
current folder. If there is no such file, it will ask if you would like
"c:\MyFiles\name.txt" to be created.

If there is "c:\MyFiles\name.txt", you may end up editing the wrong file, saving
it successfully, only to discover that "c:\name.txt" is still empty at a later
time. If you were creating the file to write some important notes on a flash
drive before leaving to an important meeting, you may come to the meeting and
realise that you're screwed. That is particularily possible if you have used
a common file name, like "notes.txt" or "readme.txt".

The same issue remains valid even if the Notepad++ is already running when you
create the file with Shift+F4.
