Ok,
I've read the other posts on the subjet and I think what i'm suggestuing is
has a small difference...
My suggestion is to put in options a checkbox "Close to tray"... if activated
when the user click the "X" (close button) in the form... the application only
goes to tray (vanish from screen and from taskbar) mantaining all documents
open...
Of course on a click in the tray icon will restore it!
If the user who has that option activated ("Close to tray checkbox") wants to
close the application must go to File->Close...
Thanks for your interest on this...

My copy was updated to version 4.9.2 today. After the update, when I switch
the direction of the text (Ctrl-Alt-L/R or using the Edit menu), in addition
to switching th direction, the text is also scrolled down.
I tried to find whether there was some conflict for these key combinations in
the shortcut mapper, but didn't find any.
Is this a bug that requires correction, or is there anything I can do to avoid
the scroll? This is very annoying.
Thanks in advance.

I think this is very usefull too...
My suggestion is to put in "options panel" a checkbox "Close to tray"... if
activated when the user click the "X" (close button) in the form... the
application
only goes to tray (vanish from screen and from taskbar) mantaining all documents
open...
Of course on a click in the tray icon will restore it!
If the user who has that option activated ("Close to tray checkbox") wants to
close the application must go to File->Close...
In the last situation or when closing windows if there are unsaved files then
prompt for save... just as usually done!!!

See also this thread:
"small bug in smart highlighting" (Open Discussion forum)
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2038967&forum_id=331753
It turns out the highlighting and mark functions require your selection to be
a complete and separated word, causing all kinds of confusion about why some
things do and others don't get highlighted or marked.
I don't understand why a highlighting function wouldn't just highlight _any_
selection.
You can use the CTRL+F find dialog to mark all occurrences, but don't think
"Mark line" will do this for you. This will BOOKMARK all lines containing a
match. If you want lines to be marked (or highlighted, please, be consistent
in naming those features!), you have to choose the "Style found token" option
in this dialog.

I think you mean to say File -> Exit.

Please, reply to only one thread instead of duplicating messages.
If you really want to, just write your messages once as a reply in one thread
and only add references to this messages or the thread containing it, as a reply
in other threads. This avoids having replies in different threads, possibly
containing the same information. This will help having only one discussion in
one place.

I can't open files that I didn't originally create in Notepad++ myself.
If I do any of the following, I get this message: Notepad++ : a free (GNU)
source
code editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience.
-click on the file
-right click and select Edit with Notepad++
-right click and select Open with Notepad++
-drag and drop the file onto the Notepad++ icon
-drag and drop the file into the open Notepad++ window
-try to open the file within Notepad++
If I created it myself however, it opens just fine.
Anyone have any solutions?

I'm looking for a plugin that'll let you have a list with custom code
prototypes.
Intellisense-like. I program in Lua for a game with several hundred
"keywords"/functions and would like some kind of autocomplete for these... or
a "prototype" tooltip.. in case I didn't explain this well enough;
if you have a function called xyzzy(foo) and type:
xy
the plugin would display a tooltip saying "xyzzy(foo)" so you would know what
to type.. anybody want to make this? :D
TY in advance
Robhol
