Notepad++, with HTML, is intended to be used to edit HTML hand code. What you're
asking for is an editor to write HTML for you. You should checkout KompoZer
(http://www.kompozer.net/) as I believe that's what you say you're looking for,
and it's free.

Hi, I'm a big fan of Notepad++, it's simply best text/src code editor ever seen
^^.
I would like it to have differents icons for different file extension. For
example,
if the file is .php, the icon should be the commonly used and a added text
"PHP",
same for other file extensions.
7-zip does this, if you wanna try, download it or if you have it, a rar file
says RAR and a zip ZIP, etc.
I think it's mostly simple and it could be a helpful and nice feature ^^.
Thanks, Ian.

Hello,
I've installed xmltools_2.3_r583 by dragging the dll into the notepad++/plugins
folder. When starting the plugin I'm prompted to install 4 dll's that are
contained
in ext_libs.
The instructions tell you to place the 4 dll's in your Windows directory, some
have posted that they were able to successfully place them in Notepad++ dir
one folder above the plugins directory.
I've tried both places and receive
Win32Exception
. Notepad ++ cannot recover and must be shut down .
The exception details are as follows :
Code : 0 xC 0000005
Type : Access violation
Exception address : 0x 0043 D 64 B
Any ideas?

When I put it in my n++ plugins directory and I opened, it said that it isn't
compatible with my N++ version (5.0.3).
What a pity :P
I made the registry changes and all that but same thing keeps happening and
I don't see the icon labels :(
Thanks anyway
I think that plugin is yours so if you update it'd be great :)
Or if you give me some instructions on how to install it well, because I used
the batch + .reg zipped file because I couldn't find the registry entry I was
supposed to look for (for me its
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Notepad++_file/shell/open/command
[all subdirectories] ).
You pointed to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Notepad++_file/shellex/IconHandler, and that
doesn't exist in my registry (using spanish version of N++ btw)

The file isnt a plugin for Notepad++, so you dont have to put it in the plugins
folder, rather put it in the main Notepad++ folder next to nppcm.dll (if
installed).
You have to manually create the IconHandler key, but I think the .reg file ought
to do that. Put the batch file next to the DLL and run it, it should work
automatically (reboot or re-login might be needed).

There should be a folder visual.net (in powereditor), open the project file
notepadPlus.vcproj and build it

Hi at all!
In front page we can read:
Q : How can I share MY DEFINED LANGUAGE (or my syntax highlighting) with the
others?
A : Follow the instructions below :
Type %APPDATA%\Notepad++ in Run box, then Enter, there'll be a opened folder
appears.
In the opened window, you'll found out a file named "userDefineLang.xml". Copy
it.
Do the same procedure 1. to the PC destination. Copy the "userDefineLang.xml"
into the opened folder.
Relaunch Notepad++ from the destination PC et voila.
For sharing the syntax highlighting, follow the same procedure but replace
"userDefineLang.xml" by "stylers.xml".
The problem is what I created 2 new languages for my own and when I try to
export
them to another PC, I havent the "userDefineLang.xml" on mi C:\(...) and havent
%APPDATA%\Notepad++ directory too. What Im doing wrong? Where, if not, is
the program saving my .xml languages?
Thanx a lot
Salut!

Believe it or not, I'm programming in an environment that uses the old DOS
codepage
850. Later this became codepage 858 (this is codepage 850 with the euro-sign).
Every windows ships with codepage 850, codepage 858 was never adopted by
Microsoft.
Currently there is only support for ANSI, UTF-8, UCS-2 and UCS-4 in Notepad++.
I request support for codepage 850.
