I think that notepad++ should support natively the syntax of media wiki
baucause
it could be very useful for its users
what do you think bout it?

Hello all, does notepad++ has some support about ctags?
I'm programming in ruby and if the file gets too much and too long,
it is problem. So if there's any way to support some functionality
similar to ctags, for easy Navigate between file/Class/type etc.
Thanks.

That's how you defined the context menu in your registry
Mine by default says just "Edit with Notepad++"

on my system, the context menu for a file (right-click) shows 'Open With...',
the Program list, and 'Notepad++ : a free (GNU) source code editor' - which
happens to be the Description metadata that Windows extracts from the executable
when the program (notepad++.exe) is selected from the Browse dialogue.
and manually changing the Description via the registy doesn't stick...
the Description will revert to the default (built-in to notepad++), which is
long/cumbersome. it's a minor thing, but irritating nevertheless.
any idea how to change the Description permanently?

I think notepad-plus-plus is not good enough for editing source such as
C/C++ language.
Is it possible that notepad-plus-plus supply this feature such like Visual
Studio or Eclipse IDE 's source code editing style.?

Oh, I get it
I dont understand what's the problem anyway... having a long name in the Open
With dialogue isnt a problem, because if you click on the checkbox, the "Open"
will be with N++
And if you dont click it, you will have to go through the Open With dialogue
again...
I dont know how can you have the whole metaname in the context menu

the problem is that
'Notepad++ : a free (GNU) source code editor' (43 characters!)
appears on the context menu of files that i have associated with Notepad++
which means the context menu is HUGE when i right-click on a file and choose
Open With
as i say, it's a minor thing, aesthetic really, but still... the Description
is too lengthy, i'd like to see it changed to simply 'Notepad++ Editor'
or similar

Ahhh, what you mean is the Open With submenu...
I dont see it because Im using the Installer version of N++, and clicked the
Associate with context menu or something, so when I right-click on a file, I
have a "Edit with Notepad++" item right below the default Open item

as for your suggestion to check the 'Always Open With...' for NP++
i prefer metapad for most text files (it's fast/lite), so i've chosen it
(metapad)
as the default Open With application.
however, sometimes i need to use NP++ instead, which is why i've configured
it to appear on the Open With... flyout menu, which as i say, becomes
unnecessarily
large, due to NP++'s lengthy Description.
Windows extracts this Description information automatically whenever an
application
is added to the Open With dialogue, and apparently enforces it too, so i'm don't
know where i can manually change it to my personal preference.
