yay! I thought it was a reasonably strange thing going on there. So what's the
procedure in getting the bug fixed? I know Notepad++ is a mature application,
but the bug reporting procedure seems fairly vague - do the developers pick
up on bugs reported in this forum?

Which search terms did you use?
I tried (all the words) "x window" and found 52 messages. On the first two pages
I found two messages describing a problem similar to yours.

Silly question maybe, but have you enabled the Auto-Completion and Function
Paramater hint on imput using Settings -> Preferences -> Backup/Auto-completion.
I had exactly the same problem when I generated our Universe language definition
and auto-completion

"Enhance Find in files feature : launch in thread, stop as wish"
seems its not stop as wish, during the searching, I clicked the "Close" button,
but the search continue. I also tried closing it by pressing "X" button on the
search result panel, but it pop out again after it closed. It can only stop
after the search is completed.

Hello,
I hope I don't repeat some known issues. I use Notepad++ ANSI and UNICODE 5.1
under XP/SP3 and found, that the verbose backup only do if the sub folder
"nppBackup" already exist (is it a bug?).
An other small issues occurrence if I start a new instance (from sub menu) and
the current folder has blanc's in the name, Notepad++ can't open this folder.
It try to open each separate string. ( It also would be fine, if I can start
a new instance without an exist file. )
It is not critical but disturbing.
So that's all.
Best regards.

i have the same problem. i used it once, and i thought it was awesome! once
i closed it, and tried to open it again, it didn't work. i even looked at a
bunch of other code editors, but none of them really match up to this. i hope
someone would help us use it!
