If you noticed what Don said, you would have seen that he said to disable all
plugins and try again...
Works fine here on both XP and Vista without any plugins besides the ones
included
w/ default install...
Plugins cause a lot of the bugs in Notepad++, if you browse these forums...

Have you noticed that Word does that too?
Ex. You open a blank document in Word, you type stuff, then delete everything,
and when you close Word, it asks you whether or not you want to save the
document...
So, it's not just Notepad++, it's other apps too...

Well, Notepad2 doesn't (http://www.flos-freeware.ch/)
And what's the purpose of asking to save an empty document?

For XP and Windows 7.
I've also tried a complete uninstall then reinstalled but still get the crash
when using F12.

The only place that normally accepts Windows Dump Files is Windows Error
Reporting...
Don doesn't usually grab Dump Files...
No formal Bug Reporting Site here, only Forums...
What's the problem?

Andre,
"...May it be a way to implement the "mixed-syntax" that I want?..."
The style nesting done in the PowerShell lexer is nesting of styles defined
by the PowerShell language itself and not the nesting of another language's
styles. I have only glanced out how _language_ nesting is done, so I'm not
the right person to say how easy or hard it would be to modify.
I've emailed the files.

Yes I do.
The dump file is generated by Notepad++ when it crashes. It allows Notepad++
team to launch debug mode from this file. This feature is made by Harry, in
release 5.2.
Please send it to

Until there is a response from the Npp Plugin Project regarding submitting new
plugins to be hosted: ( https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=667712
) ...
A user of this plugin who does not have a sourceforge account has informed me
that the source and unicode binary have been uploaded to xthost.info. I
confirmed
the md5 on both but recommend you do the same.
Here are the md5's for the two files I've been sending out:
2f98e38c052735fa3ce5bb5df5adb04c *NppExterLexers_Plugin.1.0.bin.unicode.zip
9eab7a7d6eb39c658a69c06c95b3b6da *NppExternalLexer_Plugin.1.0.src.zip
Here are the urls to the file downloads via this host:
- Binaries:
http://two.xthost.info/kmeleon/otros/npp/ExtLex/NppExterLexers_Plugin_1_0_bin_un
icode.zip
- Sources:
http://two.xthost.info/kmeleon/otros/npp/ExtLex/NppExternalLexer_Plugin_1_0_src.

Problem solved.
In my haste I downloaded the first file (npp.5.2.bin.zip). This is a zipped
file of all the Npp files. The second file (npp.5.2.Installer.exe) is an
installer.
Ib resurrected my previous Npp install directory and ran the installer for Npp
5.2. Perfect, everything is as it should be.
Great work, Don and team.
