I have a question.
Is it the operation which "directory" was blank when "Find in Files" was
performed,
but was meant?
[The reappearance method]
1. open readme file
2. A word is chosen.
3. Ctrl + Shift + F
directory is blank
v5.3(ANSI/UNICODE) , Windows XP pro + SP2
As for "v5.3RC", the path of a current directory enters.

No problem. It seems it has something to do with history of recently opened
files that is "kept" after an upgrade. Once I closed all the files manually
the problem did not reoccur. Now I close Notepad++ and it closes properly every
time.
Almost like it had an unaccounted for handle to one of these files so it couldnt
close? Tried to debug the Notepad++.exe process with sysinternals Process
Explorer
but couldnt see any files open that shouldnt have been.
Also I was editing my Autohotkey scripts with Notepad++. So Notepad++ was/is
often launched by the Autohotkey process. Not sure if that makes a difference
but when I was experiencing this bug I did start Notepad++ from the start menu
several times just to make sure.
Also the bug with the window title showing only first character after a while
seems to have dissapeared! Related maybe?

What I mean is the "session" of files that are automatically opened when
Notepad++
starts (Option: remember the current session for next launch).
When I closed all these files that were in my session manually the problem(s)
went away.
Seems when upgrading from one ver to another this session list of files causes
the issues. Thats how it appeared to me at least!

Sunbelt says "corrupted archive" for the Notepad++ 5.3 installer Windows file.
The 5.3 installer file for windows seems to be 200 KB less in size than 5.2
installer.
