Indeed.
The localization files are only updated in v5.3 installer but not in zip
package.
This issue will be fixed in next release.

The answer is supplied several times on the forums.
You can find it on the wiki page as well.

> The 5.3 installer file for windows seems to be 200 KB less in size than 5.2
installer.
Reduced size is due to removing incompatible plugins from release.
> Sunbelt says "corrupted archive" for the Notepad++ 5.3 installer Windows
file.
Use another mirror to download v5.3 installer package.

yes I think your solution is much wiser that others. just delete the relevant
key and the system will make it done automatically.

The highlighting of changed lines in 5.3 is a very nice feature. I would love
to have it amended with keyboard shortcuts (say, F4 & Shift+F4) that allow me
to cycle through the changes I made during the present session, in chronological
order.

Hm, probably not clear, sorry. By "cycle" I meant: warp the cursor to that line.

I find there is one mistake
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/regExpList.php
it says:
"Search ([^0-9])([0123][0-9])\.([01][0-9])\.([0-9][0-9])([^0-9])
Replace with \1\4-\3-\2\5"
and
"31.12.97 became 97-12-31 and 14.08.05 became 05-08-14 and the IP address
14.13.14.14
did not change, you're done :-)"
let's test this:
31.12.97
14.14.14.13
31.12.97
14.14.14.13
note that there is a space (or whatnot) both at the beginning of line 3 and
line 4
and then use the method he gives. it doesn't work as he said competely. I don't
know why.
it turns out to be:
31.12.97
14.13-14-14
97-12-31
14-14-14.13
to fix the problem that IP address changes, we should search this:
([^0-9.])([0123][0-9])\.([01][0-9])\.([0-9][0-9])([^0-9.]) then result is:
31.12.97
14.14.14.13
97-12-31
14.14.14.13
as you see, still not perfect - if it's at the beginning of a line, the match
will fail. how to get it done?

Hi Don.
I solved the problem.
The following line "//" delete.
*FindReplaceDlg.h (line 348)
//::SetDlgItemText(_hSelf, IDD_FINDINFILES_DIR_COMBO, dir);
Why did you comment out this line?
regards

Normally Find in files operations are performed in a specific directory, so
once you do search on a directory, it will stick on it, until you set another
one - that's a "correct" behaviour for me.
If you want to use the current document located directory, just erase the
"Directory"
field then click "..." button to set to current document directory.

First of all... much appreciation for this feature. I use it to keep the work
separate between different work areas of the same project.
The way I use it is
a) first I create a session.npp file at the top of each development tree
b) then for each session.npp I create a windows shortcut with
Target: "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" -multiInst -nosession
session.npp
starting in the folder containing the corresponding session.npp file
This is cool. I can keep the sessions separate and launch them at will using
the shortcuts either from the desktop, or the start menu or wherever..
Unfortunately however, at this point I noticed a few problems that "detract
from the user experience" just a bit.
1) when you go to "save session...", the "file save as dialog" starts in the
folder of the currently open tab, not that of the previously opened session.
You have to go find the session file of interest to overwrite it with the new
session data.
2) there is no tab (or other selectable proxy item) for the session (as there
is for any other loaded file) otherwise I could just select it and then "save
session..."
3) there is no indication in the UI anywhere of the identity of the "current"
session so I can distinguish between open instances of the editor
It seems the editor has no concept of the session file once the individual files
it refers to have loaded.
I don't necessarily want to suggest that you turn notepad++ into some sort of
project file driven IDE monster, it would detract from the overall clean and
simple approach to the UI.
But the ability to at least get back to the session file without having
to laboriously navigate the save as tree every time would be a very "nice to
have".
Cheers
