This doesn't do what is being asked. CTRL+HOME goes to the top of the file,
and CTRL+END goes to the bottom of the file. What is being asked (and was
answered)
is how to go to the top of the current screen/page and the bottom of the current
screen/page.

I meant compare 1.5.1 (not 5.1.1)
dammit

> I think all free software comes with a term that says "Your mileage may vary".
Personally, I think all software, free or not comes with that saying. I don't
use the FTP feature I use NP++ as a text editor. To the point, I use NP++
without
plug-ins.
I find it interesting that people bash a whole product for one minor portion
of it. It would be like bashing all versions of Windows simply because MSPaint
isn't very good for more than basic image editing. It doesn't make sense.
I am glad to see someone that complains about a product actually read the
responses
that the post creates. That at least is top shelf.

Just an FYI: The text area context menu is missing entries for the mark, case,
and comment entries.

Thanks for all your work Don. I love your program.
Compare plugin (1.5.1 not unicode) no longer works (and was reported to not
be working for (or since) n++ 5.3.1 either - ansi I presume).
Someone reported that the compare plugin works with 5.4rc unicode but I found
it does NOT work with 5.4rc ansi (see thread on Help forum).
I reported this:
I went ahead and installed N++ 5.4rc ansi and now compare 1.5.1 does not work
correctly - it finds a lot of the diffs but the two compare windows do not line
up side by side - and it fails to highlight sections missing altogether in one
file - and the windows/tabs now get rearranged so the starting left window is
on the right and vice-versa - to name some of what is peculiar
This sucks because the compare plugin is a necessary part of n++

<grumble/> I had used that facility, but on Alt-F9, while Alt+F9 was the key...
Since ConvertExt seems to be an ANSI only plugin, I understand why I couldn't
find out by myself. Is it to be considered so standard that the entries are
to be kept, while Ctrl-Alt-Shift-H (toggle for HexEditor) isn't listed?
CChris
If anyone sees some mangled formatting in the MediaWiki stuff, it's free to
join and free to amend :-) So far, the contents are 98% merges from the existing
sources.

It depends on your OS and your printer. If you have say a PostScript or PCL
based printer, form feed won't be read as a page break.

This may be a dumb question as I never use the N++ compare plugin ( opting
instead
for dedicated diff or total commander compare ), but is there something that
the compare plugin does that another open source diff/compare app doesn't?
I ask only because it seems that if the orig author is gone, it may be better
to integrate something from an active project...

"Can we agree that it's not the most user friendly way to go about?"
lol; considering it isn't meant to be changed by users...
I implemented custom icon capability in the NppPluginIface library, and found
the Scintilla is pretty touchy about what it will and wont accept. And
considering
that faulty xpm's cause program exceptions I'm inclined to say that it shouldn't
change until a good xpm validation routine is made to stop people from breaking
their installation and then blaming N++.
It would be nice though to have that ability, and I think theme writers would
like it a lot too.

I think the author of compare updated for unicode late last year but I suspect
otherwise he's dropped out and I get the feeling he's unlikely to be interested
in keeping it up to date.
Since I've updated to 5.4 it's time to use another compare. Recommendation
for a dedicated compare?
