What is IDEA Torrent? How do I access it?
I used to use Slick Edit and I was fine with the way it handled tabs. It would
put a very light gray % symbol in the first position of the tab, but you could
set that character to anything. The color of the tab character was much lighter
than the text so that it did not make it more difficult to read the code.

Not sure exactly what this is supposed to do. It looks like I have to run a
macro everytime I open a file to rid myself of the margin. That would be a
quite a bit annoying.
Nevertheless, I tried the directions. I found shortcuts.xml in Program
Files/NPP...
and in %AppData%/NPP... I added that section of code. I restarted NPP. I go
to Macro/Run macro multiple times, and the only one listed is the other Macro,
Trim Trailing Space.
I re-open the shortcuts.xml files, and the one in %APPDATA% has wiped away my
changes.
If I'm correct, and you have to run a macro for each file, then don't worry
with helping me with the problem; I wouldn't take the effort for every single
file I open.

"IdeaTorrent" is in the "Hosted Apps", in the menu just below the title
"Notepad++"
on this page.
I think that more than just maping the " tab" character, it would be a good
idea to be able to map any character to any symbol we like, in any color we
like (but I'm not sure how this color should be mixed if the same character
is also syntax-highlighted).

I also think we should be able to customize menus and load different menu
configurations (or default menus) from a config file. I just added it
to IdeaTorrent, waiting moderator approval... you will be able to vote or add
your own idea of solution.

I would like to help create a syntax highlighting script for MediaWiki. I'm
quick at learning new programming/scripting languages and I would really
appreciate
it if someone proficient in NP++ syntax highlighting would help out.
I'm sure many people would prefer NP++ as a MediaWiki wikitext editor. I would.
In comparison to the other rubbish text editors, NP++ stands out as the
preferred

Just an FYI...there are quite a few NP++ users in this group, and I have now
heard of at least two others getting these crashes with various versions. We're
guessing it may have something to do with a patch (most likely from MS) that
was recently forced on us by our IT, but have no clue what it could have been.

Well it all depends on
* the text background/foreground combination you have
* the amount of trasparency
In the lower right corner of the Find/Replace dialog, you'll find tranparency
settings. As stated in the docs:
* the checkbox turns transparency on or off, uncheck for off
* the sloder controls the amount. I'm happy with it being set at about 30%
(having
the value shown on a tooltip would be great)
* the radio buttons allow you to choose when you want the box to become
translucent.
The dialog background color is a Windows system wide property, but you can
adjust
that too.
Have fun, I find it useful, as I can read the text underneath and still locate
buttons on the dialog.
