Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-2287: --------------------------------------------- Okay. With respect to this issue, I did look at using {{tee -a}}, which I think will work, but it'd still need some log rotation bits. If ACCUMULO-2372 compromise (retain current files and also go to logger) works out, doing append+log rotation, or just continuing to clobber, would both be viable options (since the log history could be viewed elsewhere). > Logs are overwritten upon restart > --------------------------------- > > Key: ACCUMULO-2287 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-2287 > Project: Accumulo > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: master, tserver > Affects Versions: 1.4.4, 1.5.0, 1.6.0, 1.7.0 > Reporter: Mike Drob > Assignee: Josh Elser > Fix For: 1.8.0 > > > When a server is restarted, then it overwrites the contents of the .out and > .err files. This makes it more difficult to debug failures if you have > something like puppet or supervisord ensuring that your processes are always > running. We should figure out how to roll the files instead. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
