   I think the sorted WALs are structured such that needed information sorts 
together and can be efficiently found via seek.  I have not looked at the code 
in a while, but I am not sure sorted WALs are ever scanned entirely.  I think 
they may only be seeked to specific places.  If this is true then there may not 
be a benefit to LGs. I think the sort segregates information as needed.
