@jdaugherty Addressed on c76fe76b8e, with 9.0.x merged in.

   Migration path:
   - Grails 9 keeps the legacy defaults and warns once when they are used:
`respond()` JSON (`grails.web.rendering.json.spring`, default `false`), JSON
request binding (`grails.databinding.json.jackson`, default `false`) and XML
(`grails-xml` is back in starter-web, and `XML.render` warns). Validation
errors keep `{"errors": [...]}` unless Spring JSON is on (b520a96840,
4b2ae6733b).
   - Grails 10 flips those defaults, drops `grails-xml` from the starter and
makes `@Resource` JSON-only. Grails 11 removes the legacy paths. Every
`forRemoval` Javadoc and the guide name Grails 11.
   - `JSON.registerObjectMarshaller` is no longer deprecated and no longer
decides which path `respond()` takes, matching #16414 (d81e3956db).

   Minor items:
   - `q=2.0` and `q=abc` are dropped when adapting to Spring. An invalid
`grails.mime.types` name is skipped instead of failing startup (fdd7fc102e).
   - Section 8 covers `response.mimeTypes` after `withFormat` and the
known-but-unhandled format (d1668dfa0e).
   - `render json:, encoding:` keeps the encoding (be751d3846).
   - The source converter's prefix, media types and charset are kept: only the
value's JSON comes from the Grails mapper (be751d3846).
   - An unknown `jsonConfiguration` fails with the same message on `respond`
and `render` (be751d3846).
   - Section 2 lists the identity property name in association references.
   - `contains(null)` is true, and a registered configuration rejects changes
(d81e3956db).
   - `JsonDataBindingSourceCreator` resolves the mapper as the converters
plugin does (4b2ae6733b).
   - grails-xml depends on `grails-web-databinding`, and the XML-only specs
moved into grails-xml (be751d3846).
   - Removed the redundant initializer calls and `GrailsDomainSerializersSpec`.
Fixed the `JsonBindingSpec` comment and the `getXML()` message. Uses
`UNPROCESSABLE_CONTENT`, and `instance` is filled from the resource path
(be751d3846).
