Actually, for cases where the folder path has characters not in the default Windows codepage, there is a solution that doesn't require further changes to the NetBeans launcher (beyond the PR that was now merged). It's the "Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" setting that is hidden in the Windows "Region Settings" dialog: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56419639/what-does-beta-use-unicode-utf-8-for-worldwide-language-support-actually-do Presumably this sets the default codepage to UTF8 everywhere for all ANSI Win32 calls (including from Java's JNI implementation), meaning there will be no un-encodeable characters left. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
