   As #38328 said, it is not over design.
   
   Perhaps you’re thinking of a simple scenario, or your use case is 
straightforward—you only use SQL Server and expect it to work without any 
additional configuration, but ShardingSphere may support dozens of databases. 
If we include all of them by default without any configuration, that would be a 
disaster. Similarly, ShardingSphere also supports many types of registries, 
connection pools, and various features. Not splitting these modules apart and 
pursuing what you consider a non-over-engineered design is not a good 
architectural approach.
