@giacomochiarella depending on your use case you could also use the
DB_CONNECTION_MUTATOR. In postgres you can set the role when opening the
connection with the -c option (manually changing the connection string):
`query_dict.update({"options": "-c role=" + role})`.
We had to move away from this solution as the connection needs to be
persistent and this isn't our case with pgbouncer in front of our server.
