When a Table chart is in **aggregate mode** with a time grain configured, the query-building logic in `buildQuery.ts` explicitly extracts the first temporal column from the Dimensions list and prepends it to the column array — `columns = [temporalColumn, ...columns]` — forcing it to the leftmost position regardless of where you placed it [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-table/src/buildQuery.ts#L189-L215). Only the *first* matching temporal column gets this treatment, which explains the quirky behavior you described with two date columns. The relevant code is in `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-table/src/buildQuery.ts` [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-table/src/buildQuery.ts#L189-L215). To fix this and have the table respect the user's Dimensions ordering, the temporal column prepending logic would need to be removed or made opt-in.
