In the two-ray ground model,the receiver power at distance d is given by following formula: Pr(d) =Pt * Gt * Gr * ht^2 * hr^2 / (d^4) where ht is the transmitter antenna height and hr is the receiver antenna height. If the distance between sender and receiver is relative large, the formula can be simplified as: Pr(d) = Ct * Pt / (d^4) where Ct is a constant so combining above equation with the sensitivity threshold, we have the radio coverage in the two ray ground model is a disk of radius 4VCtPt One way to increase the communication range is either increase the power at transmitter or increase the sensitivity threshold of receiver. For increasing the sensitivity at receiver you can adjust the CSThresh_ and RXThresh_.
