James the reason that the size won't change after you restart the computer
is because the system account has been denied access to the drive where the
page file resides. Make sure the system account has full access to the
system drive. Do you get a pop up message that says something to the fact of
"New system settings could not be loaded" as soon as the OS boots to gui? Or
something like that? I have seen that whenever I would change system
settings, like disabling services, changing page file size. It turned out
that the bios wasn't supported on the OS. Believe it or not. I actually
flashed an older version of the BIOS and the error went away.

Subject: 20 Mg Swap File

Greetings All;
Hopefully someone has a suggestion for this.

I recently upgraded a Win 98 to W2k Pro. Now when it starts up it
gives an error message about the swap file being too small. I have
set it to be a minimum of 341 mg, but it never initializes to a size
greater than 20 mg. There is over a gig of disk space available.
Any one have any suggestions??

TIA

Jim
