Yes I have seen browser issues affecting logon times. If you get a lot of
Browser election events, then you will encounter excessive network traffic,
which will result in longer then usual login times.

In general you want to select a few Domain controllers or member servers to
participate in browser election events.

The article below will explain why you are having the problem and how to fix
it.

Subject: Master Browser Errors in Event Log

Before I go check this on line at MS, has anyone seen these errors in their
event logs:

"The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer
WIN_SERV_PDC1 that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on
transport NetBT_Tcpip_{44835A3B-2347-45A8. The master browser is stopping or
an election is being forced."

What does this mean, and how do I correct it? I do notice that if I login on
the domain from the box getting this error, it takes a LONG time to
authenticate (not sure if its related)

TIA,
Duane
