Hi, Thanks for the effort on ntfs-3g.
I installed the latest version (1:1.0.1) from the following ubuntu repositories with required updated libs. I am running edgy with kernel 2.6.17-11 The problem is as follows: Hibernating XP (with its NTFS partition), the /dev/hda1 (which is the XP partition) is not mounted at all and you can not access it. running mount -a gives the following messages: $LogFile indicates unclean shutdown (0, 0) Failed to mount '/dev/hda1': Operation not supported Mount is denied because NTFS logfile is unclean. Choose one action: Boot Windows and shutdown it cleanly, or if you have a removable device then click the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the Windows taskbar notification area before disconnecting it. Or Run 'ntfsfix' on Linux unless you have Vista, then mount NTFS with the 'force' option read-write, or with the 'ro' option read-only. Or Mount the NTFS volume with the 'ro' option in read-only mode. If, however, XP was shutdown properly, everything works excellent, it is automatically mounted, and you can read and write. Moreover, for my usb external hard drive, I can not mounted so far and gives more or less the same error mentioned above. Thanks.. -Karim ____________________________________________________________________________________ No need to miss a message. Get email on-the-go with Yahoo! Mail for Mobile.
