You should get the below message only if Windows shutdown was unclean.

It's possible to access such partitions in read-only mode, using the 'ro'
mount option. Only the read-write access is denied, prior to version
1.411-RC.

Click the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the Windows taskbar then the
disk can be cleanly detached and mounted on Linux.
