Ext2FSD doesn't support journaling... so it's no better in that respect. It also doesn't fully support Ext4 yet (extents, xattrs are unsupported). (Also, I'm convinced that NTFS-3G is more widely tested and used than Ext2FSD. Still, I'm sure it's a good project.)

My 1st priority is to have the safety of the journalling for my /home partition.
2nd is to have easy access to it from Windows XP.

Should I better use ext3 than ext4, also from performance/footprint reason?
(I'm running Zenwalk distro on 1 GHz Mobile Pentium III, 384 MB RAM, 15 GB HDD)
