That's exactly what subfloatnumbering is supposed to do automatically and less verbose. This is why subfloatnumbering was implemented. I'd have to change my sources, which I'd like to avoid. I have an older set of documents from 2021 and during the process of reworking using a current context version I noticed the incorrect float numbering. I suppose it has worked at some point in 2021, but I don't have an old context version any more to check.
