Almost the same example can be found in the source.

That achieves the same result but manually. That's exactly what
subfloatnumbering is supposed to do automatically and less verbose.
This is why subfloatnumbering was implemented.

I'd have to change my sources, which I'd like to avoid. I have an
older set of documents from 2021 and during the process of reworking
using a current context version I noticed the incorrect float
numbering. I suppose it has worked at some point in 2021, but I
don't have an old context version any more to check.
