I do everything from TeXShop (<http://www.uoregon.edu/~koch/texshop>) and BBEdit so I have no idea where anything TeX-y is... I spent half an hour finding out how to 'enable write 18'... ;-) Poking around inside this stuff is probably too much, too soon for me, since I'm a newcomer to the whole thing...
