\defineactivecharacter ' {\otfchar{quoteright}} But is there a more general mechanism to do things \definesubstitution{<string1>}{<string2>} eg \definesubstitution{--}{–} Of course ConTeXt already provides this particular substitution but I'm interested in such a mechanism for more general purposes.
