What needs to be done is to compile edge with -g3 and step through in gdb
(assuming gdb exists on openwrt) to see why the data is getting corrupted.
How confident are you doing this?
What's your C skill level?

wrt. The src_mac field is being clobbered somewhere and gdb is the best way to
figure this out.
