Do you mean 11.10? Or did you put a 3.0.0 kernel on 11.04?

Looks like you need ixgbe > 3.5 for 3.x kernels: see
http://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/files/ixgbe%20stable/3.5.14/

Luca has promised to update the PF_RING-aware drivers when he has the
time, and has already done the e1000 and e1000e ones yesterday. ixgbe is
harder because of the hardware filtering patches, so I advise patience :)
