Barnaby I have discussed this issue with Arianna. We have decided to leave the historical interface as is, and do not fix any (non obvious) bug. Our plan is to design a proper historical data drill down, and the historical interface was not designed well enough for this as it was just a simple way of looking at past data. This drill-down facility will be integrated in the next ntopng version.
