I've had a similar issue with RHEL6.6 in using the stable rpm repo.
Building PF_RING and ZC ixgbe drivers from stable source works fine.
Loaded using the included load_driver.sh
Kernel 2.6.32-504.16.2.el6.x86_64
I'm rebuilding my test system fresh so let me know if there is anything
you would like me to try.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled and somehow /etc/init.d/pf_ring dissapeared.
I copied it from a SVN copy and tried to start pf_ring but had no success:
# /etc/init.d/pf_ring start
Starting PF_RING module: PF_RING not enabled
[ OK ]
# lsmod | grep pf_

I tried to uninstall and reinstall again all the pf_ring related modules
(pfring, pfring-dkms and pfring-drivers-zc-dkms) and
found the same warnings too during installation process:
WARNING: /lib/modules/2.6.32-504.12.2.el6.x86_64/extra/ixgbe_zc.ko needs
unknown symbol _kc_simple_write_to_buffer
WARNING: /lib/modules/2.6.32-504.el6.x86_64/weak-updates/ixgbe_zc.ko needs

Should I use testing repository?

Hello Alfredo,
I didn't know about this document and all the options in "Annex A", and believe
it should appear also on
pf_ring user's guide.
I've followed the instructions on this paper, but dmesg shows an error when
trying to load the ixgbe driver:
ixgbe_zc: Unknown symbol _kc_simple_write_to_buffer
These are my config files for pf_ring startup file. I have a server with 2
Six-Core AMD Opteron CPU and a 10G
Intel NIC with a single SFP port.

Hi JoseI recommend you to use RPMs, you can configure our init.d script
for loading pf_ring
and zc drivers at boot time. Please read this guide, page 22 "Configuring a
