Summary, Network Load. Click on the graph for the time period in
question (last hour) and you'll get the top 3 talkers during that
period. The url is:

https://yourntophost:3000/thptStatsMatrix.html?col=1 (or col=0, col=2,
col=3) I haven't used / tested all of these, but I know the last 10
mins and last hour works.

Luca, this is a common question and the only way I found out about this
was from a post long ago, else I would've completely missed this feature
as well. Might I recommend some embedded text on the "thptStats.html"
page and / or another menu option to help guide users to this VERY
useful data? I think this would help many users as this is a very
common usage case: "My network was maxed an hour ago (n time ago), who
did it?"

Actually, I guess I could write some "use cases" for common problems and
post somewhere. Perhaps under a "How To" / "Use Case" section on
ntop.org?

HTH!

Gary

Subject: [Ntop] View bandwidth by host by hour?

Is there a way to limit the bandwidth scope of the "Host Information"
page (hostsInfo.html) to a finer granularity?

I'm looking for a quick way to figure out which systems on my LAN are
actively consuming bandwidth, ranked by consumption over a specifiable
period of time like the last 10 minutes, 30 minutes, hour, etc.

The closest I can get is http://ntop/hostsInfo.html which has a broad
granularity based on the somewhat-arbitrary "age/inactivity" field.
To track down a local system consuming the majority of the bandwidth,
I have to use click on each of the top hosts, scroll to "Host Traffic
Stats" on the resulting page, and see if the "Tot. Traffic Rcvd"
column has a high number in its top row.

There's also http://ntop/dataHostTraffic.html?col=99&showH=1&showL=2
but activity is expressed as a percentage per host rather than a
percentage of total traffic.
