Hi Wayne,
I did it. You dont need Internet on the server. When i answered you was
after checking to shutdown the interface on the ntopng that gives
internet to the machine.
You only need internet in the ntopng server to download/install and for
updates. You dont need it for "use" the ntopng.

The country information comes from MAXMIND. The GepMap requires a
connection so it can use the google maps API to plot points and make a
map and do a pretty traffic graph. So you can get country into by
updating the database (it gets updated once a month for the free
users) but you won't be able to see the google maps part without a
network connection at the ntop webserver.

I can be wrong, but you dont need "internet" for geoip.
At first install, you will do a "make geoip" that will download the free
geoip database from maxmind.
And also you dont need internet access to see the map so just open
internet
access for first install and then close it.
I usually just standup/down the ethX interface connected to internet.
