I'll be honest - I have no clue what versions you are talking about. ntop versions are 1.3, 2.0, 2.0.1 and now 2.0.99
It sounds like you have some sort of a package for FreeBSD? And that it's not unpacking "right"... You need to find out who the packager is and ask them.
