Glad you found the problem! Especially w/ today's fixation by some on 'uptime', you can have 100s or 1000s of system changes applied which may really not be fully executed until the next reboot... where upon, "I didn't change anything" isn't really true.
It's always a good rule to blame any change in system state first. For example, on my Gentoo router, I've applied dozens of kernel patches and new software versions. Many of them are running because the service does a restart. But until they reboot, I'm really still running the old kernel, even though the box is 'up to date'! And, of course, "Power on" is a big state change! -----Burton > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > KiNo > Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 9:57 AM > To: ntop-user > Subject: RE: RE: [Ntop] Ntop stop recording traffics > > > Sorry I found the source of the problem. > After an electricity shut down, the switch where the > ntop box was plugged, didn't reboot correctly and the > mirroring port was disabled. > > Thus, the most significant part of the traffic was > unvisible to Ntop. > > I change the set-up on the switch and everything works > fine again. > > Thanks. > > > >Which version of ntop, how are you starting it, what > >else did you change - > >all the usual ?s - see HowTo Ask For Help in > docs/FAQ. > > > >-----Burton > > > >> -----Original Message----- > >> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > >> KiNo > >> Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 5:28 AM > >> To: ntop-user > >> Subject: [Ntop] Ntop stop recording traffics > >> > >> > >> I ran a ntop box on my gateway to internet and it > >> seems like ntop stop recording the IPSec traffic. > >> Usually, the VPNs generate a 10ko/s flow, but since > >> its last reboot ntop displays nothing in the charts > or > >> it didn't update the rrd graphs. > >> > >> I made some space on the hard drive and I did > reboot > >> ntop a couple of time, but the problem persists. > >> > >> I check all the stats but it seems like only the > IPSec > >> traffic is ignored. > >> > >> Do you have a clue of what happened ? > >> > >> Thanks > >> > > Nicolas > > > > > > > Vous manquez despace pour stocker vos mails ? > Yahoo!
