That's what I was looking for. I am always just a _little_ skeptical because the vendors always say "You won't notice any impact..."

The default configuration has the agents poll the server every 5 minutes to enforce policies, with hourly updates to the server's database. You definitely don't want that much activity, or you will see your network drag. Mcafee recommends a much longer time for larger networks with some randomization to keep your ePO server from getting slammed. Your only problem with that is in an instance like nimda the other day with the wait for dats. Fortunately, and one of the very best reasons for even using this software, you can push that update out at the site level from the console at any time. I don't think your boss would mind a little bandwidth for that. Punch some numbers on it until you find a comfort level. We only enforce 3x a day. I'll wake the agents so they can have updates pushed to them if it looks important. HTH Wade M. Walters Network Services GDS Engineers, Inc. At one time we installed the Management Edition crap and it utterly brought our client PC's to a crawl (Win95/Win2k). We are about to start looking at using the ePolicy Orchestrator 2.0 and I am wondering what performance impact I can expect to see on the client PCs when I have the ePO 'Agent' installed on the clients...I DO NOT want to see a noticable impact or this is never going to fly. We will be testing this thoroughly before making a decision, but the timeline is rather tight all the same. If anyone knows beforehand how well this is going to work out, or if there are any 'known' issues or performance tweaks - that is all welcome information and very much appreciated.! TIA Aaron G.
