John, are you starting to notice a pattern here? You have a problem. Someone helps you, probably not as well as you'd like, or in the manner you like, and offers some unsolicited comment about the way you ask for help, or your reputation for accepting help, etc. You rant. Someone explains things. You calm down.
This has been a pretty common cycle, and the frequency with which it repeats should be telling that the fault is not on the community.
