Incidentally, you'll get a lot more control of the output from adfind with the -csv switch, depending on what you're trying to accomplish.
I usually just copy/paste from the distinguished name attribute in the Attribute Editor tab of ADUC when I need to paste a DN into something like this to avoid this sort of mistake.
