I have a question on how .msi upgrades in group policy works...

I have deployed a copy of Firefox using group policy. When I first did it, I
assigned version 6.0.2. I then assigned the 7.0.1 version as an upgrade.

It's working perfectly. But I do wonder if/when I can delete the old 6.0.2
version. Do I have to keep the old one on there (assigned, as well as keep the
old file in the deployment share) forever?

Or can I remove the 6.0.2 version safely, without making entire labs of
computers pop up errors?

Thanks for the info.
