We ran into several issues when one PHB wanted this:

File size limitation. Default size limit is 50mb for SharePoint. This can
be modified, but we did not.

File type exclusion. There is a laundry list of file types that are
prohibited from SP by default. This can be modified, and we did allow some.

Special characters. There are several characters that are not allowed in
file/folder names. This can not be modified.

URL length. We found out that SP would allow you to upload files/folders in
excess of the 400 character limit, but then the files/folders become
inaccessible due to URL being too long. The fix was to browse a lower level
folder and reduce the character count.
