At one of my last gigs, they used it for backup circuits. I wasn't involved in
it but, never heard the Network Team complain about it.

Subject: Comcast Cable Internet in the Enterprise

I'm looking for feedback on the use of Comcast cable Internet in the
enterprise. The pricing is very affordable (e.g., $370/month for 100 Mbps). It
almost seems too good to be true, in fact.

I realize that with cable Internet you're sharing a pipe with others. Although
that's true of every method of accessing the Internet; at some point up the
chain, you end up sharing bandwidth. I guess with cable Internet the sharing
just ends up happening closer to home. Is this a concern related to
performance, or security?

How about reliability? Is cable Internet considered to be less reliable than
"traditional" connections (T1, etc.) provided by telcos? I have Comcast
Internet at home, and it has been pretty reliable for me. Not quite as reliable
as the connection I have at my office, though.
