This would be primary.

The facility is currently paying through the nose for a T1 that's nowhere near
enough bandwidth for it. They absolutely have to increase speeds, but cost is a
concern. I'm thinking that if something both (significantly) faster and cheaper
is available, that's the way to go.

However, the connection HAS to be highly reliable. High uptime is absolutely
critical for this location.

This is still Comcurst you're talking about.

That said, they seem to pay a little bit more attention to their corporate
customers than the residential ones, and the sharing risk is not too bad
assuming they haven't lit up a huge building.

That pricing might be reflective of your geography and employer, but only a
little... Will this be your primary line or backup?

I'm looking for feedback on the use of Comcast cable Internet in the
enterprise. The pricing is very affordable (e.g., $370/month for 100 Mbps). It
almost seems too good to be true, in fact.

I realize that with cable Internet you're sharing a pipe with others. Although
that's true of every method of accessing the Internet; at some point up the
chain, you end up sharing bandwidth. I guess with cable Internet the sharing
just ends up happening closer to home. Is this a concern related to
performance, or security?

How about reliability? Is cable Internet considered to be less reliable than
"traditional" connections (T1, etc.) provided by telcos? I have Comcast
Internet at home, and it has been pretty reliable for me. Not quite as reliable
as the connection I have at my office, though.
