I am considering WSS with SP1 and about 100 user but forums only. If I
am not mistaken SQL express doesn't have the search function so we can't
search within the site, right?

NO small DB for causal use you can get away with SQL express no problem.
Depends on what all is running on the server though contending for
memory/processor/Disk IO.

SBS 2003 runs Sharepoint natively for offices of 20 - 50 users and it
runs good for the built in stuff.

Subject: SharePoint database consideration

Hello everyone,

Is it fair to assume for a small SharePoint site within company to be
used for calendar sharing and forums, can I get away with the built-in
database coming with SharePoint or do we have to invest in SQL server?

Thanks
