> And LiveMeeting can now be run locally, you don't have to use the hosted version if you prefer not to. Well, you still have to have the client download something. Point: This morning, on a fairly important conference, we had to wait while the customer downloaded the LIveMeeting plug-in. For some reason, LiveMeeting was slow and it took quite a long time (maybe as long as 10 minutes, I wasn't counting). That's precious time lost. I filled the time in with other discussion. I doubt the customer was running WebEx anyway, so it probably wouldn't have made a difference. But it might make a difference in other situations. Again, it's a question of who has the most penetration already on desktops. We pay (and it's not cheap like the old Placeware days). It's a nice system though. Sometimes I pine for WebEx when a customer says "Oh, I have to download this control to get this to work". Sometimes going with the leader is easier. And, WebEx will probably deal with you if you hit them at the end of the quarter... As far as all the others, I don't know about some of them, but just remember that Clueless Salespeople have to run them. They want to put their Powerpoint up and blab away. However, for those of you who are M$ partners, can you use live meeting for free? I'm researching this, since we be a partner but I don't have an answer...yet. Thanks for all the feedback thus far. I like WebEx's functionality, I just don't like the price. All I'm looking to do with it are sales presentations and demo's along with the occasional remote support. I'm still assessing needs within our firm and I apprecialove any comments.
