What's actually worse (IMO), is when someone (oh, say, Microsoft themselves) turns on "strong version checking" so that you MUST run the latest version of LiveMeeting. So, even if you've had a dozen versions installed before, if a new minor dot release comes out, you've gotta install it again.

Well, you still have to have the client download something. Point: This morning, on a fairly important conference, we had to wait while the customer downloaded the LIveMeeting plug-in. For some reason, LiveMeeting was slow and it took quite a long time (maybe as long as 10 minutes, I wasn't counting). That's precious time lost. I filled the time in with other discussion. I doubt the customer was running WebEx anyway, so it probably wouldn't have made a difference. But it might make a difference in other situations. Again, it's a question of who has the most penetration already on desktops. We pay (and it's not cheap like the old Placeware days). It's a nice system though. Sometimes I pine for WebEx when a customer says "Oh, I have to download this control to get this to work". Sometimes going with the leader is easier. And, WebEx will probably deal with you if you hit them at the end of the quarter... As far as all the others, I don't know about some of them, but just remember that Clueless Salespeople have to run them. They want to put their Powerpoint up and blab away.
