David, are these new Laptops, going forward in the future or adding
encryption to the existing devices? The reason to ask is that most
manufactures provide that option now when ordering the new Device. You
can purchase the new Laptop with a drive that does hardware encryption.

Regulation? No. What I got from my meeting was "we want to start using
encryption on our laptops, #1 it must be easy to use or it will get
bypassed. #2....see what other options we need...

David,

Check out TrueCrypt or Encrypted Drives themselves, is there some type
of Regulation pushing you to this solution? I like the self destruct
capability of the newest encryption schemes with USB memory sticks I
would like to see the same thing in regular drives that offer Full Disk
Encryption.

I have a meeting today to go over determining requirements for
encryption of laptop and removable media. I'm guessing someone here has
already gone though this and would love to have some points to consider.
