Run you about $5500. http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=338 They make some larger units as well http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=340 If its just for a emergency backup you could also look into those ductless mini split systems like the Mr Slims from Mitsubishi, they are quite inexpensive and maybe will work for you in your circumstance. Sanyo also makes them. It only cools 3.9kW maybe one rack of gear depending on how much you have on it, I think a full rack of servers can generate about 10kW of heat. You looking for a backup in case your Liebert units go down again? ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob Fronk <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: NT System Admin Issues <mailto:ntsysadmin@lyris.sunbelt-software.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 3:53 PM Subject: Backup AC units I have had two Liebert units fail in the last month. Yesterday's failure caused 4 hours of downtime. I am looking for backup unit recommendations. I am looking at the APC ACPA4000, but I am not sure it is large enough for my main center. Opinions and experience from the list appreciated.
